Delco Aux Plug (Finally!)
Well, I think it's about time I posted a diagram explaining the wiring to the remote-mounted AUX cassette or CD in many late-model GM
vehicles...
You can use this input to feed the radio a signal from other outside AUX sources, such as MP3, mobile video, cellular, etc. You just need a couple
relays!
This post will include the basic pinout for the plugs, but no sample circuits. If you want a specific diagram, please post a request with a
descriptive title so that others can benefit from the info by searching for words in the title. (For example, use Adding AUX to 1999
Tahoe, not Please help!)
The diagrams below show the position of the wiring, here are the colors:
A - Blue >> ACC w/30-second turn-off delay
B - Gray >> Dimmer 12v-0v
C - Bare w/sleeve >> Grounded Signal Shield
D - Green >> Right Signal
E - Orange/Black >> Left Signal
F - Tan >> Audio Common (Thanks Jeff!)
G - Black >> Chassis Ground
H - Green >> Data Bus
J - Orange >> Constant 12v
Please note that there are two green wires. They are not interchangable!
